I have traditionally used rubber in my swim suits, and this product is more of an elastic than rubber, so I don't have experience with how it ages or reacts overall to chlorinated water, so this review is only about the usability of the product. It's just a lot easier to apply than rubber is. It stretches easier, and stretches more than rubber, so getting an EXACT fit is not as difficult. For me, rubber was hardest to apply to the legs of a swimsuit as you cannot 'stretch' the front or it will gather, but you need to stretch the back as the suit has to fit over your buttocks. The rubber is much more difficult to maneuver on this part of a swimsuit.

I purchased the 3/8" black swim elastic for some dance costumes. Great recovery, easy to work with, and a great value.
