Cute pattern and my dolls love their outfits!
I decided to make some cheerleader outfits for my dolls to help cheer on my 49ers during my 2020 Super bowl party. This pattern looked like it might do, but I didn't like the length of the skirt. The cover picture has the skirt way too long in my opinion. Cheerleader skirts are always very short. I considered making the skirt very, very short, and adding matching panties, but did a test run with shortening the skirt only about half an inch first. Willa's outfit was the first one I made. I decided that I liked that length of skirt and made all of them shortening the skirt pattern by half an inch. Also, I only used one layer of material on the skirt to keep it from getting too bulky around her waist, so the outfits I made are not reversible. I wasn't so sure that I liked having the ribbon on the top of her uniform so low (see Willa's outfit), so on my next ones I tried raising it up higher. As you can see on Kendall's uniform, the ribbon placement isn't as easy to get in the correct position if placed higher. One would have to be very careful and use LOTS of pins. Emerson's came out better because I'd done two already and had a better idea of what I was doing. Sorry I couldn't also show you the fourth outfit, but this won't let me add more than three pictures. Yes, I liked it so much that I made four of them! Overall this is a very cute pattern and my dolls really enjoyed being cheerleaders during the Super bowl. The pom-poms were made from a mix of regular and sparkle 'eyelash' yarn.
