Detailed information on every system you can think of (and some you didn't think of). Presentation is superb, as is the print/paper quality. Simply love this one

An excellent overview

This is a high quality book that covers several consoles through the ages. I consider this book an overview as it gives highlights and statistics for each console along with some statistics rather than detailed history. I would have liked more information but considering the number of consoles included, its conciseness is a fair tradeoff and still is an enjoyable read. A couple of points improvement would be to include photographs and the cover was slightly warped.

Don't put coffee near this coffee table book

You don't want to ruin something this beautiful. Don't use it in the bathroom either, like all of Bitmap Books' visual compendiums, for a quick read and glance. The format is clearly meant for comfortable couch use with two available hands (and not for flipping through one-handed while trying to balance it on your knees). You Learn Something New Every Day This book is the perfect complement to "Trigger Happy" and "The Game Console 2.0", giving you that perfect balance between historical timeline, and the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. You'll see and read things you've never seen and will never unsee. What a ride. Small note: I'm actually giving 4.9 stars, rounded up, for the very short bookmark string. It feels like I'm hurting the book trying to lift up the pages with only the cord.
