Lovely puzzle - tricky enough for fun

I gave this to my 11 year old who worked it out in about half an hour. His older brother (15) also got it fairly quickly - about 15 mins. Their father and grandfather couldn't do it. So I think it all depends on the type of brain you have, rather than age. It is a lovely puzzle. Beautifully made, the joins where the box comes apart are almost invisible, two secret compartments make it all the more enjoyable. I put a note in the first saying "keep going" and then a small gift in the second. Absolutely no quality issues (mentioned by another reviewer). I would highly recommend this puzzle and I plan to buy it for a gift again.

Good idea, not the best build

I like the box a lot. The design is great and the puzzle is taxing without being ridiculously difficult. The only problem is the build quality. One non-movable section wasn't glued down enough and came off when pulled - gently. Easily re-glued though. Parts of the secret move slightly when in positions they shouldn't, making the puzzle easier than it should be. Still, it's a nice object and it'll do what I bought it for.
