This is not the Six Going On Seven from the late '90s, early '00s. And I'm very glad they didn't just try to re-create the band's sound from that era. Everything is different about this record except the catchiness of the songs, and the rhythm of Josh English's words. I find myself getting stuck on each song as I progress through the record, contemplating the feel, the atmosphere, the subtle urgency, the '80s new wave/pop influences. Happy the band reconvened to add a new, evolving chapter to their sound!
