The CDa arrived quickly and well packaged. The "proper" albums are cold out card cases with lovely evocative artwork all over. The "demo/Rarities" CDs are still professionally produced and look great, but obviously these are more of interest pieces rather than "proper" final release albums. So delivery 5/5, products 5/5. On to the music. Penfriend doesn't lie when it comes to the sound. This is melancholic indie pop and it's great. Lyrics are introspective, there are enough catchy choruses and chunky guitars and synths to keep any listener happy and i have to say the musicianship, mixes and overall sound here is consistently EXCELLENT. Love it. Definitely a smaller artist to watch, listen, follow and support. Hopefully they'll do some live gigs near to us!
