I absolutely did not see that ending coming, but what a brilliant short story! I received it as an e-book when I ordered The Hollows which was to be my first Foster Burton experience. I couldn't wait for it to arrive after reading The Lighthouse Keeper. Now, I'm impatiently waiting for my next weekend off so I can read The Hollows!
