A fantastic DIY snuffle mat

A few years ago I started making a snuffle mat, coincidently using the same rubber mat, but bought a sheet of felt. Oh dear, cutting the long strips was tiresome and after a few hours work it ended up put away to gather dust. So when this kit was announced I knew I’d finally make that snuffle mat I’d always promised our dog - pre-cut strips make it so much easier. Really great kit; I'm sure I’ll get another one :)

Snuffle mat is 5*

I’ve been looking for a large snuffle mat for my dog for a long time but the ‘shop’ bought ones were too flimsy, didn’t seem ‘engaging’ enough or felt rough to touch. I’ve bought the plait and snuffle ball from Chloe before so know the quality of material she used (very good quality fleece, soft and thick). I’d even thought of making a mat myself but didn’t know where to start getting the materials. So, when I saw this kit, it ticked all the boxes. It arrived quickly. The rubber mat is substantial, heavy enough not to be moved around by the dog but light enough to be taken outside to shake clean. The fleece is ready to use. You just tie knots! It took me a couple of evenings to complete. I ran out of fleece but this was my fault as I hadn’t read the instructions properly so I had filled EVERY gap. I contacted Chloe who posted extra fleece strips too me, thank you Chloe. The mat is dense and I can hide a full meal of kibble in the material. Takes my dog a good 10 mins to find all the kibble with an added bonus of kibble that has fallen through the mat when I pick it up. Overall, well worth the money, nice to have made something for my dog and the dog loves it.
