Good Intermediate Book!
First of all, don't be mistaken by the title of the book saying "easy". I'm a professional pianist and teacher and I would classify these arrangements of the book to be between Early Intermediate and Early Advanced (probably around 4-8 on the Henle scale depending on the piece). There are a couple. . . interesting transcription choices that seem to try to accommodate for younger pianists but actually make the pieces harder. For example, some left-hand melodies are swapped to the right hand, which ends up making the accompaniment in the left much harder than it would've been originally. Some tied notes are switched to straight rhythms, which are easier to read but hard to play. Some arrangements also run a little sparse, but I of course understand that's to decrease the difficulty level as well. I bought this book for my little brother (who's a teenager but just finished Bastien 4) and most of them are a stretch to play, but he's a big fan of the game and having fun with the music (and he's happy, so I'm happy). The video is me sight-reading Dirtmouth, which I would say is one of the easier pieces in the book. In terms of physicality, it's a nicely constructed book with lay-flat binding (extra creases so the music doesn't flop to one side or another). I would've loved to see a spiral-bound version like the advanced edition, but I understand the demand may be a little different. It's obviously also designed to serve as a coffee-table art book, so the pages are glossy. Opinions vary, but I'm personally not a fan of glossy music books as they tend to be harder to mark and also have glare in certain lighting. Attached are pictures, I attempted to show the glare in direct light. All in all it's a very nice book. I'm definitely being pretty picky with my review, but in all honestly I intend to buy the full difficulty book myself. If you're on the fence, I would definitely go for it!
