ESV Single Column Heritage Bible - Chestnut

I wanted to get something special to celebrate my parent's 55th wedding anniversary. They recently started going back to church regularly, and I decided to give them both bibles with a customized note, and scripture etched into the cover. It came out beautifully! When I presented them to my parents, my mom cried over the gift. I also was surprised by how much scripture she remembered from her youth, when she'd attend Sunday school. This transitioned into a 2-hr conversation about God that I never would've had without this gift becoming MORE than a gift. It was a catalyst for deepening a relationship and learning more about my parents than I ever knew! I was given a gift by GIVING a gift! What?!? Since then, we've spoken more about God and what it was like for them growing up in the church, how life seems to pull us away from the church, and what it's been like for them to have renewed focus. It's astounding what this gift has brought to our family, which has always been close and loving. A new window has been opened for me and my family. New ideas, perspectives, and histories have been revealed. I don't know how much time I have with them both, but I've learned more about them in the last few weeks than I have in years.
