The LA County Fire Museum has special significance for me since it houses the memorabilia for the Emergency! TV series, especially Squad 51 and both the Engine 51s. I grew up watching the show every Saturday night at 8pm as well as the reruns every afternoon after school. The show was the primary influence for me becoming a paramedic. The idea of providing advanced life support in the pre-hospital care environment was incredible. I didn't work on the fire side of EMS but providing ALS care for a private EMS agency was a perfect fit for me. I always made my first day trainees watch an episode of Emergency! so they could get a good feel for the roots of how EMS developed. One day I will get to the museum to get a picture next to the Station 51 apparatus, and I am happy to help support such a worthy cause.

The Museum has been the best support to me and my transition to retirement!
