I liked the fairytale aspect of it. But my main reason for ordering this book was to reclaim a language that had lain dormant. I left Scotland 63 years ago . I don’t think I ever spoke like that, but my mother did and I could still hear that voice . I am sad to have lost these words so I got so much pleasure from hearing them again in my head— and reading it out loud to myself to get my tongue round it . That was great. I have sent it to my cousin who is also nostalgic for our our common family( from Fife) but has been away even longer than me. So thanks so much for a trip back into a forgotten language.
