My first HGP Diver
Love the monnin case. Very comfortable on the wrist. SuperLuminova on the hours, minutes and indices is bright. It’s simple and functional and has become my daily wear. One drawback is the rubber strap smells like some industrial rubbery smell. I could not get rid of it. So gad to purchase a FKM strap to replace.

The olive-green black soul in my collection
I always thought a Monnin case was best appreciated in its natural state, but this black-coated diver’s watch really stands out with its matte black case. A cool, clean look, a beautiful faceted sapphire crystal, good lume, a satisfying click of the bezel, and outstanding readability make this watch a true value-for-money gem. This deep olive green is also a great color accent on the otherwise completely black watch. I have just one complaint: the Tropic strap. It’s way too short (I can barely get it around my arm using the last hole) and it has a very unpleasant smell (an extremely strong, artificial, chemical vanilla scent). That makes the strap unusable for me, and it’s something that could be improved. (For this reason, I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars, as there’s still room for improvement. ) That doesn't make the watch bad overall, though, because I've found the best solution for me: I wear the olive-green black soul on a black Zulu split strap (or, alternatively, an olive-green Zulu split strap). A great watch. I give it a thumbs-up.
