Finally my toes can breath

In 40 years of riding, these are the first cycling shoes that actually fit my big flippers, without having to go two sizes long. My first ride on these shoes was 8 hours and 30 minutes over 122 miles. My feet started to get tired after about 7 hours. Which is incredible considering I had zero break-in rides. Very firm sole, and roomy in the vertical plane as well, which is nice because I also have tall arches. The price was a bit extreme, but if these last three years, definitely worth it.

I’d been using my road shoes on my gravel bike for a while and was overdue for some gravel shoes. I’m still in the break-in period, but the shoes are pretty comfy. And good for limiting pain that I get from Morton’s neuroma.

Excellent Quality and Fit

I've lived with compromising fit with cycling shoes (and many street shoes) for many years. I have a wide (EE) width. I'm so pleased to have learned of Lake and to know that a company makes a quality shoe with focus on fit. I have limited miles logged at this time (approximately 50), but based upon my initial impression, i find the fit to be spot on and the shoes to be very comfortable. When riding, I tend to adjust the fit tension based upon outdoor temperature and my riding enthusiasm (casual group ride vs hammering on a hill climb). i find the Boa dials allow great micro adjustment and easy to increase/decrease tension while riding. Having 2-dials is essential so the toe box verses upper arch area can be tensioned independently. The leather materials feel luxurious and durable. I have some hesitancy toward long-term wear, especially if subject to wet conditions, but I'll likely retain my older shoes for such occasions, even though the fit is not as desirable. Overall, I'm quite satisfied the the Lake product and my interaction with Lake. Customer Service was great, in addition to their website having a great deal of content pertaining to fitting process.
