Learning to Spin on a Turkish Spindle - Summer Wool Festival 2026

A well taught course, with useful troubleshooting. I've tried using a drop spindle (unsuccessfully) many time before, now thanks to Rachel's course I've finally got to grips with it, and made my first ever ball of wool. She also let me helped me choose the right spindle for the fine wool I want to spin, and recommended a great book for further information. Just need to practice, practice practice now

It was my first attempt with the Turkish spindle and I really enjoyed it! Rachel is very patient and helpful. During the workshop we learnt about the different fibers to use and to avoid as beginners. Obviously, I got my super funky Turkish spindle from Cat & Sparrow along with some fiber! Keep being awesome!
