Darn Tough Hiker Boot Full Cushion Socks

I recently purchase a pair of the size Medium 'Denim' Darn Tough Hiker Boot Full Cushion Socks and found them to be quite comfortable. The only thing I didn't like is that the elastic strands are starting to pull out of the top of the sock and I have only been on three relatively short hikes. I have had socks start doing this in the past but after about a half year or so of normal wear. I feel that this is unacceptable for a pair of socks which cost me almost $27 including shipping. I might have just received a bad pair but I am not sure if I will be purchasing more of these socks.
