Bannon hit a Grand Slam with this one!!
This is my first review ever on BBM after several years of purchases. Normally, I don't take the time to write reviews (call me lazy) because there's always lots of others doing it. But, this trick is soooo good I just had to speak my mind.
I've been performing magic, professionally, for over 50 years and, trust me, I've seen it all. I just showed this to my 47 year old son who is privy to all my new tricks in their beginning stage in which I haven't ironed out all the wrinkles. He knows most of the sleights I use and how a lot of my effects are accomplished through the use of various gimmicks. Hardly anything I do anymore produces genuine wonder in him which raises his eyebrows.
This did.
I changed Bannon's premise and wording from the card being "invisible" to something more believable because I knew my son, being a chemist, wouldn't go for that at all. I also changed the handling a wee bit and put a card face down on the table, inserted it between the two jokers, squared them up, waited a second and then put it back in the pack and continued on as shown in the trailer while giving him the explanation of what I did which had something to do with a chemical reaction taking place of which I knew he would accept as plausible. That being said, it gave the trick more feasibility. The hook was set.
When he removed the face down card from in between the jokers and looked at it, his eyebrows went up when he saw that it was his named card. He looked up at me, truly perplexed, smiled and said, "Dad....how?" At that point, I knew this was a card trick I would perform for the rest of my life.
He asked to see the deck to look for the blank card. I knew he would ask so I had already handled that situation unbeknownst to him. I handed him the deck for examination and he found nothing unusual at all. He was floored; Something I don't see too often from him.
This is sooo easy to perform, even for a beginner. After 15 minutes of practice, you'll have a mind-blowing stunner, even for the skeptic in the crowd. I couldn't believe the low price for this. He could have charged twice the amount for what this trick will do for your reputation. As a working pro, I can tell you this will astound every single person who sees it. Way to go, John Bannon!! I can't believe I didn't think of this. Arghhh!
