Out of the box these shoes were surprisingly long and narrow. I overlayed insoles and these new s-phyre wide are equivalent to older s-phyre regular models. I was recommended by my LBS to try the regular XC-7 and sure enough, this one fits, the shape is better, and the insole is slightly wider than the 'wide' s-phyre. If you're looking for a wider shoe, recommend the 7 series. It's quite frustrating that high end shoes keep getting narrower. Good news is the XC-7 is about half the price!

Quality Shoes
First thought was they were expensive for riding shoes. After wearing them for several rides, they are more rigid than my previous pair thus relieving pressure points in the ball of my feet. Will buy again when the time comes.
