I'd give this a five star rating but I'm taking a star off for the assembly instructions. They were abysmal! I think the bed took about three hours to put together but an hour of that was me staring at the paper trying to make sense of them. . . and I've assembled over a hundred pieces of furniture in my lifetime. Other than that, the piece was altogether easy to set up. The quality is great! It seems sturdy and the drawers glide easily which was an important factor for us. I would recommend a thick mattress to put on top because there isn't much support in terms of lack of space for a box spring. My daughter (who is twelve) says it's completely comfortable and has no complaints. The large storage compartment is a neat addition. Very practical for small spaces. I love that it has an easy to access door. Shipping was fast! I think it came within a week. This is a unique little piece of furniture. I spent HOURS searching the internet for something like this. We are squeezing our daughter into a tiny room and finding this felt like finding a unicorn! Most beds that have drawers underneath are not attached to the beds with rails which is obnoxious. If you are using these as your primary drawers you need something that is going to function well and these definitely fit the bill. I appreciate that there is no headboard because she has one small window in her room and a head board would cover much of the light. This bed makes the space feel so much more open and practical.

The bed is sturdy and beautiful. We love thr stirage it provides in a small room - it has allowed it to totally transform our 3 year olds room. She can easily access her own clothes in the drawer and we can stash out of season clothes and too big/small clothes in the hideaway compartment. Added bonus is that its sturdy enough to hold an adult and we can use it as a guest bed when visitors come.
The only minor downside is that assembly is quite a project (just takes a few hours) and that we have to supplement with a stepstool for our daughter to climb in. However, assembly is just a few hours of invested time for a high quality bed.
