Wore my new boots (replacement for well-worn previous pair of "Setters") this past weekend, 20-22 May at the US Open (Sporting Clays) held at Backwoods Quail Club in Georgetown. I did not know how worn my old boots were until I put these on for three days. The terrain was varied - smooth grass, to gravel, to wood planks, to uneven dirt, to mud. The boots performed well, just like the last two pair. While we did get some rain, it was not enough to truly test the waterproofness ?? of the boots. Previous pairs repelled water, so I am thinking these will, too. The color of my boots, Brown, were a shade or two lighter than my previous two pairs of brown boots - no real biggy. Boot laces were shorter than previous pairs - need to be 60 inches long. I use my boots for dove and quail hunting, working in the yard, general walking in cold weather in addition to shooting in sporting clays events. My only question to Wild West is do you carry the replaceable inserts for these boots, or do you know where I can get some? Inserts do need regular replacement to get the best out of these boots. The Red Wing store in Columbia is closed.
