Exactly what I was looking for as my first 3D Scanner.
The Ferret scanner does an excellent job on things like models that are reasonably sized and have a lot of detail for the scanner/software to maintain orientation. Even fine details are scanned in accurately. For smaller or thin objects (like a knife or pair of scissors) the software struggles to maintain a position lock. Scanning dots help but the resolution drops on the end result. The SE requires a cord connection to a computer USB port. For larger objects, the ability to connect to a phone would certainly be worth the extra $50. Overall this seems to be an excellent scanner for the price. Exactly what I was looking for as my first 3D Scanner.
