works as a dryer but missing few important convenience options.
As a dryer this thing does help a lot as i live in pretty humid part of the country and keeping filament hanging on the outside of the printer was out of the question. couple of minor shortcomings as i see them: 1. PTFE tubes that dryer comes with are too short to have a printer 'roof' setup as it often portrait on product page. either i need to go and buy longer tubes or relocate runout sensor, which is pain and extra steps/time. with length of tubes provided only position is a side position. 2. it's pretty noisy when it's working. but so is the printer, together they drawn each other out,,, and here is my third complaint 3. part of it has to do with physics itself, it takes hours (4-8) to dry PLA prior to starting the print. the longer your filament sits and accumulates moisture the longer it then takes to dry. would be nice if dryer i could schedule print and dry cycles and have things print when i am at work. 4. as my filament that i spent hours drying, sits in the unit in between prints (sometimes day or two sometimes a week) i can see how humidity in the dryer is slowly climbing up as my dry filament re-absorbs moisture back. that's frustrating to watch. i can't be expected to run dryer continuously nor can i keep taking it out in between prints to then put it back in, as it's a PITA. 5. i wish dryer could have a moisture level preset and turn on automatically when it goes up above 15%. as i see it now you can only manually trigger dry cycle for certain number of hours which is not as convenient.
