Highly Recommended Warm and Soft Hoodie
This hoodie feels warmer than Ibex's other 100% merino wool sweaters. This is likely due to Nuyarn technology. It can be used for leisure, snow sports and hiking. With the hoodie it is more casual and could be used for work as well depending on the work setting. Love the sweater and quality! Medium fit me well (6 feet and 170 lbs). The fit is identified as Athletic which is slightly more fitted than standard. I have the Shak Jacket to compare against.

Maybe the Best Hoodie Ever…. ?
Hood is the main event. Doesn’t droop and ruin peripheral vision. No strings on chin. Snug embrace of head, stays snugly in place. I love it! A bit thick and heavy fabric but very nice (and warm). The gray has a touch of purple which I don’t like. Would buy another one in black with no hesitation if it existed. Comfy!

Super comfy but expensive, odd fit, and wearing out quickly
Use case: I got this to replace an old ibex midlayer from 2013 for high alpine use under a shell and over a light-heavy merino base layer in temps down to 15F approx. Pros The fabric feels lovely - its comfortable and snug and leans itself more to a cosy sit around in the house hoodie vs. a technical. Its not too heavy but it does have weight to it and its also not at all bulky so it fits well under a shell without feeling overly restrictive. Sleve length is great - I've got longer arms and the length is perfect Cons Wear and tear - After less than a week of use under a shell the fabric is starting to show wear and tear. One of the downsides of merino but I do have other merino midlayers (like the one I am replacing) that looks less than a season old after over 10 seasons of heavy use vs. 1 week. Arms are super slim while the torso is that of a one size up comfy NFL type of hoody. It does not seem to breath as well as some of the other knits of competitive merino in my opinion based on how damp it gets when working some body heat. under a goretex 3L pro shell. There is probably a million factors to this so something to consider but hard to quantify. Given the price I'd expect a much higher level of performance. I have alot of merino technical use intended clothing from IBEX (although from the old IBEX) and competitors so I already had an expectation for performance vs. cost which this fell short of. Would I return if for a full refund if I could? No I dont think so - not at this point. Maybe I'll revise this statement after 1 year of use but for now while its got quirks it fills a specific need in my midlayers between light-medium and switching to a ghost whisper puffer for when it gets below 10F.
