Highly aromatic herb for a short time

The herb arrived and looked just like the picture and had a fantastic scent. I was originally was very pleased but less than a month later the scent is gone. I keep it in an air tight container and would open it occasionally to breath in the scent. I wonder if the dried herb was enhanced with oil before it was shipped out to me and if so what brand was used because I loved it! I bought the herb to burn for a class assignment so ultimately having the dried leaves is what I wanted. I just wish that I can get the scent back since it was advertised as a HIGHLY aromatic herb and loosing the scent after less than a month was disappointing. I have herbs that are not so aromatic and have a stronger scent after being in a container for years.
