Short Life
I purchased a charger for my Abound LR just about a year ago. All seemed to work well until the past few weeks. The charger lights started flashing colors I had never seen before. I unplugged the charger from bike and wall and waited a few minutes. For a week this worked - the charger stopped flashing it lights and charged the bike. Now...nothing. I still get an occasional light show but now the charger doesn't work. and ofter there are no lights working. Bike won't charge. Really like the Abound SL but the charger should last more than barely a year. I am struggling to purchase another charger as I don't know if it will last...

Smarter charger would be desirable
I had to buy this replacement charger after my garage flooded due to heavy rain and the bike connector was slightly submerged into water. One of the charging pins dissolved. It would be great if the charger was a bit smarter and checked for the presence of battery voltage before enabling the charging current / had short-circuit protection. However, I’m glad the replacement charger was at least reasonably priced, it was my mistake after all to leave the cable on the ground. Happy with my bike otherwise!

Really Disappointing Customer Service
On June 7, 2026, while on vacation, I ordered a replacement charger for my Aventon e-bike after realizing I had accidentally left my charger at home. After placing the order, crickets. I received no information regarding when it would ship.
By June 10, it had become clear that Aventon's fulfillment process was so slow that the charger would not arrive before the end of my trip. I emailed Aventon on June 10 to cancel the order. Aventon responded "our standard warehouse fulfillment window for accessories and components is 5 to 7 business days (excluding weekends). Since your order was placed on June 7, 2026, it is currently on its fourth business day and remains safely within our standard processing timeframe." Despite the fact that the charger was still in its warehouse and would not ship for several days, Aventon refused to cancel the order.
The charger was ultimately delivered on the last day of my vacation, rendering it completely useless for the purpose for which it was purchased.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that Aventon's website provides no notice during the ordering process that accessories may take 5–7 business days just to leave the warehouse or that orders must be canceled within 90 minutes. Had those limitations been clearly disclosed on the product page or during checkout, I would not have placed the order.
To add insult to injury, returning the unused charger would cost me approximately 20% of its purchase price in shipping and related expenses.
This experience reflects a customer-service philosophy that prioritizes rigid internal policies over common-sense solutions. Aventon could have easily honored my request and canceled an order that was still sitting in its warehouse and would not ship for several days. Instead, it chose not to.
I currently own two Aventon bikes. Unfortunately, this experience has permanently changed my view of the company. Because of Aventon's handling of this order, I will not purchase another Aventon product in the future.
