Next filter change , I am a currently using the same housing with out the drain . The housing is mounted above my head. I own 3 filter housing and will try adding a drain on the others

Well water manganese water filtration

The filter was ordered to remove manganese and silt particles between the well water pump 900 feet from 3500 water storage tank. The key to the process is to ensure the filter would not add additional pressure to the well pump. The filter placement at the tank water feed into the tank. The size of the filter is expected to minimize the pressure load on the pump. It serves as a pre-filter of the contaminants so the smaller filter would be more efficient. It also the drain valve extends the life of the filter by periodically flushing the filter manually.
