KNEE PADS

Some time ago, I wrote to ask if additional knee pads were available. The knee pads that come with the garden trouser's were not sufficient. So, some months later, I was very pleased to hear that you had introduced additional knee pads. This makes kneeling now so much more comfortable. Thank you.

I’m a passionate gardener and a huge fan of Genus clothing, owning 2 pairs of 3 season long trousers, a pair of Pro pants, and shorts, a hat, secateurs etc. I was finding the kneepads in my 3 seasons trousers weren’t giving me the protection I needed and so I assumed they had worn thin. I ordered 2 new pairs of kneepads for both 3 seasons trousers, but the new pads didn’t look any thicker than my original ones. I’ve thus sewn a new pad to each of my existing pads and I thick they’ll give me the protection and comfort I need. I garden on very heavy clay, sometimes use a mat, but often in the winter, I’m on wooden boards to avoid compaction. I’m 5’2”, weighing 8. 6 stone, so I can’t see I’m putting more pressure on the pads than the average gardener. For me, I’d have appreciated thicker pads. In the past, before I was a convert to Genus, I used to buy pads which tied round the knee. These did give better protection, but were a faff and I much prefer the idea of built-in pads, as Genus trousers have. I hate to complain because I love the clothing, but I would like thicker pads and hopefully now, by doubling up, I have them! Regards Rachel

The built-in knee pads are only thin but make a huge difference. I deal for when I have to kneel in spaces that are too small for the kneeler
