Many years ago, my wife and I purchased four different BATW roasts in search of the most robust yet inoffensive brew available. Marine was the standout among the French roast styles we tried and we have been conspicuous consumers ever since. It remains a welcome friend in the morning and holds it’s own served on ice in August. It’s bold but never tries too hard, only the most abusive preparation will make it bitter and even then it is forgiving. Highly recommended. JD
