You definitely get the base notes, but they over power the top and middle notes that made this such a beautiful scent. It is super long lasting and linear in my opinion. It maybe that since Creed was acquired by Keribg that they are trying to stay more in lockstep with the Adventus since it is a best seller. With that said Adventus is not a favorite of mine so if you enjoy it then the newer iteration of Millesime Imperial might be for you. Your best bet is to match the tester to the batch number in store or through scent split if you happen to come across an iteration that speaks to you. I took off a star because I personally dislike it. For reference I enjoy Aqua Fiorentina, Love In White, the 2012 iteration of Flowerbomb, and Kilian Princess to name a few. This might be for you if you enjoy Adventus, Silver Mountian Water, and Green Irish Tweed, Bleu de Chanel, Tom Ford Oud Wood, Santal 33.
