PRISMATIC COMPASS M-73

Amazing Piece of Craftmanship

As a collector of compasses (rather than just a user), I treated myself to a Francis Barker—the M73 model—for Christmas this year. I am truly impressed by the quality of this "masterpiece of craftsmanship." Great work, my English friends! It almost feels like a shame to expose such a fine piece to the "forces of nature"—yet that is precisely what it was built for. Once again, thank you for this outstanding product. Best regards from Austria...

A true classic compass where the brilliance shines through.

This is a very robust compass with a long, long history behind it. I purchased the degrees version which suits me as a hobbyist. The ease of taking spot on bearings with this compass is legendary, easily down to 1/2 a degree accuracy. The manufacturer provides a repair service which provides long term confidence on the investment that buying an M73 is. It uses tritium which for a decade supports use of the M73 in low light, to no light conditions. After that time just send it back for new light cells. Yes I am a fan having used these type of compasses from the cadets through to the Army. Every where it is admired as a thoroughbred in solid navigation technology. A great investment.

A+

It is a superb instrument. Probably over-kill for many people. But if you want and appreciate the Very Best .... look no further.
