Strap is too long

The basic concept of this is great, and I love the part that fits around the base of the drum. However, I'm 5' tall and when I adjust the strap to its shortest, it's still too long. I have to buy another strap that I can adjust to the correct length. I also need a shoulder pad on the strap.
