Vigor Alpha Stealth Review

I spoke several times to the Rolf representative about various wheel sets. I chose the Vigor Alpha Stealth because I had prior success with the Vigors sl that I bought almost 17 years ago. I have ridden on the Vigor Alpha Stealth for about 3 or 4 weeks. I can say they are everything that they advertise about the them. Enjoyed the smooth ride, weight, and quality of the wheel set. I have other Rolf Wheels (Aries 6) and none have been a disappointment. I compete in Triathlons and plan training and racing with both wheel sets. Alpha's are tubeless compatible. My only concern was the continental 5000 clinchers were impossible to mount on these tubeless compatible rims. Went to my local Trek dealers and bought Pirelli P Zero race clinchers that were more tubeless friendly to mount. My next pair of tires will be completely tubeless but for now I will use my existing clincher tires. Use my continentals 5000s on the Aries 6 which are traditional rims not tubeless. As for as the Alpha go they are money wisely spent.

High quality wheels

The Vigor Alpha Stealth wheelset is high quality with very smooth hubs. Tires are hard to get on but tips on the Rolf Prima web site help. I appreciate the minimal delay in engagement. My only quibble is with the stem placement. On a previous set of Rolfs the stems were midway between spoke pairs allowing maximum access for the pump head. On my new Vigor Alphas the stems are crowding a pair of spokes making access somewhat less convenient.

Fast and light

Amazingly fast, and super light. The ceramic bearings really do make a huge difference. I've put 1000 miles on these rims so we will see how long they last which is the true test for a Randonneur!
