What sets this dimmer apart is that it’s actually inline. The light plugs directly into the dimmer, and the dimmer plugs into the outlet -no extra control tail hanging off the side. A lot of dimmers use a stacked-plug or branched design, which has its place, but it can get messy. For setups where you want the dimmer to live cleanly on the cord, this approach is much tidier.
