A remarkable lens

This lens is fantastic! The images are sharp. It’s very versatile allowing me to go into low light situations and capture photos that otherwise would have been far noisier. The portraits that I’ve made with it have subjects that are vibrant and jumping out of the image due to the creamy bokeh this lens produces. This biggest worry that I had was the weight of the lens which thankfully has not been a problem for me so far. The double battery grip helps offset any balance issues that I was also previously worried about. The only thing that stopped me from getting this lens before now was the price. I could not justify purchasing it for over 3k as I am not running a business at this time. Especially when I can rent this lens for $50 for an entire weekend from a local camera shop. That changed though when the lens went on sale for $500 off. That reached the the threshold where I could see using the lens enough times in the next couple of years that it was better to own it than to rent it. Thanks Pictureline for carrying this lens!

Magical Lens

When paired with the R5, it's really a magical lens. No wonder it cost that much. It weights about the same as the 100-500 mm lens. The size and weight is really not that big a deal considering the performance you get out of it. I waited eight month to get mine finally and I can't stop myself from yelling "woo-hoo".
