Nice Pieces - Terrible Playing Mat

The pieces and carrying cloth sack that came with this purchase are nice. However, the playing mat itself has a terribly strong industrial plastic/rubber/petroleum smell, really bad. Can easily engulf an entire room within a few minutes. I get it’s cheap but this is just bad.

Its always a pleasure dealing with the folks in the ChessHouse. 5 stars always. Customer service, delivery and support is second to none. While Mr. T in the House that is White thinks a special relationship is something he doesn't have to work at, the House that is Chess know what it is to provide their customers with their knowledge, support and the highest quality in the products they sell.

Great little set!

I bought two sets for bughouse play at work and also at my local starbucks with a chess group meet up. The vinyl board is perfect for rolling up and travel and it's the perfect size too! The pieces aren't the best quality wood - but for the price I cannot complain and I'm happy with the purchase regardless. I definitely recommend this for easy to-go setups, park play, or for quick play in a coffee shop.
