Wood stove monitoring

I’ve been looking for a way to monitor our wood stove since it’s in a back room we’re not usually sitting around in and also doesn’t have a glass window so you have to open the door to see how the fire’s doing. Now when the temp drops below 375° I get a notification, run in the back and throw another log in the stove. Plus it also warns us if the fire gets above 700° which is a great bonus. Works absolutely perfect for our needs!

Wireless Tags & software review

The tages themself seem to be fairly accurate. I have 10 tags in varying applications and they have been good. The outdoor tag with the bigger battery is better as I am using to messure my hotwater service temp and is doing its job well. What is not good: -The software is average, it constantly crashes on my iPad and is probably my main concern. - The software is not intuitive to set up the probes and use the finctionality that the probes offer. I have been unable to fix glitches with the software. - I have had 2 door magnet tags that dont work properly and I cannot get them to register as closed. I have tried everything I could to fix the glitches. Ive tried fixing the setting, reset them, everything except remove the battery! I think its software based, not the temperature prob itself. - I've tried a probe in a fridge & freeze application and the battery only lasted 4-5 weeks before it was giving me low batt readings. Removed from fridge and using elsewhere. Pitty because this is one of the items I wanted to monitor. - the light sensor fuction has not been effective. I have really struggled to get this to work with any meanful data. Generally have turned off this fuction. Positives: I have used a tag in my car to record temperatures. Good feature is when the car is back in range it retrieves the data. - accuracy of tags is very good for the temperature and humidity. I have compared to some high end test equipment and they are very close. For the average home use they are accurate enough. - Compact size and easy positioning makes them easy to install. - Range of transitter of tags has been better than expected. Overall the tags are sound. The software and instructions on how to set them up is average and been my biggest bug bear.

installed on oct 25th to monitor pool and chest freezer temperatures. has worked exceptionally well and accurate. will get more for additional applications.
