I bought this for an older Hudson I bought used. I have bought one or two Edison nibs that were okay but not great, and this has been a few years ago. However, this nib, was great right away. It is the smoothest Edison nib I have ever had, no tuning required at all. Now my Hudson is as useful and loved as my Collier is! Great nib, and amazing service!
