Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-guri - Ink Sample

Wanted to love it. I can't count off too many stars because the ink performance itself was great. I just found the color to be a bit uninteresting when compared to Noodlers Walnut or J. Herbin browns. You might love it. Very saturated, very legible.

Pleased to have tried this. Not sure how I’d describe this - a brown that’s got a bit of a purple undertone, no hint of chocolate. It’s not particularly dark, but it is an ink I might reach for in place of black. It’s. Well behaved color, that simply reads a little different, for someone such as myself who does tend to stick with blues and blacks. I see myself purchasing a bottle sooner rather than later.

A beautiful Neutral Brown!

I used this on my Monteverde Ritma and it’s such a pleasure to look at. This isn’t your normal warm brown but a cool and neutral brown. If you need a ref, think Burnt umber. If you’re using this on copy paper, it hits that dark brown color but if you’re using a resistant paper (Tomoe River) it falls a bit lighter (think of just a light hint of purple on your brown)
