Noodler's Black - Ink Sample

Flow was limited on 3 of 4 pens, due to the viscosity I think. Hue was nice and dark when flow was wet enough. But it often was too thin for great results.

A solid black

As I'm entering a more professional field, I wanted a good black to use for my everyday pen. I've tried this and Noodler's Black, but this just seemed to flow better as well as dry quicker. Even on everyday notebook paper, in my Pilot Metro, I got thin lines, no shading or bleeding and dry times as quick as 7 seconds. It doesn't stand up to a highlighter since its not a document ink, but I need to try gel highlighters just to see if they do better. If you're looking for a good, dependable black, this is it.

Don’t really like it

I heard a lot of good things about Noodler’s Black. Lucky I only bought a sample. I don’t really like it. The consistency is weird. I tested it out using glass dip pen. It dries so quickly and it’s more or less bubbly… it feels so thick that it sort of bubbly, unlike any other ink. I like how black it is but I really hate the consistency. Won’t get this one again.
