I love the look of this ink and it was a perfect choice for me since I could not decide between blue or black.

I... want to like this ink

I have to say my sample does not compare to the images. The pictures show shading with a Lamy XF nib; I have the same nib and paper but not an inkling of the same shading or colors. With a fat, wet nib, it will shade somewhat but not to the colors depicted. It's darker, less saturated, and ultimately less rich. Imagine a muted version of the picture with less shading and vividness. It's a good color - maybe your color! - but it's going to compare to the vividness or the similar dark Diamine blues. As you already know, Goulet Pens was awesome.
