Not a Very Practical Ink

This ink arrived with a sticker on the outside of the packaging that basically said not to leave this in pens long term because it may clog them. As a result I decided to test it in my cheaper preppy pen. When you shake the ink, the gold metallic will mix with the ink, but the gold falls out of solution almost instantly and can be seen again from the underside of the bottle. As a result, if you DO want to risk putting this in a pen, you have to act fast. It’s pretty, but not very practical at all. You cannot even really use it with a dip pen because of how fast the gold falls back to the bottom. It’s a really expensive ink to be this difficult to use.

Excellent ink

I really love the way this ink looks. I usually shake the bottle prior to filling a pen but I would recommend letting it settle for a few seconds before filling. The amount of gold is a lot so the ink looks rather gold vice black with a gold shimmer. This is a comment on nibs vice the ink itself: make sure your nib can handle particulates. My Kickstarter pens with Bock fees and nibs & my Lamy pens can handle The inks but the Twisby pens I borrowed from a friend don't like them at all. So be ready to try them out on different feeds
