IWA WEED Thruster: Surf (3 fins setup)

Had to dull the blade...

Had to dull the trailing edge and tips on this set of fins. They were dangerously sharp. Also had to grind off about 1mm from one fin's base, which bottoms out in the fin-box, in order to get it to flush in the box. instead of being raised and grabbing grass.

IWA 10.5 Thruster

New design looks and rides great! A little bit thicker and stronger, not as sharp and not quite as swept back. Still might need a bit of sanding to get the front tip flush with the board but it only took a few minutes to fit them up. I was reminded how fast and loose these fins are when I broke an old one and had to use a set of FCS mayhems, they felt like I was dragging weeds the whole time. Glad to get back on the IWAs, I don't want to ride anything else. Thanks Makani!

They really work!

Sound side of Cape Cod is loaded with weeds in summer, with clumps of them is some places. These fins stay clean though. Tremendous improvement over the stock fins. Board performance is as good or maybe even better than with stock fins too.
