Mushi Nabe

First of all, I love the careful packaging to ensure nothing is broken during transport! It’s a beautiful donabe and I’m so excited to use it! It is wider than I expected. From handle to handle, I measured 14in / 35cm wide. The capacity for the large is listed as 3000ml or about 3 quarts but when I filled it, it held closer to 4000ml / 4.2 quarts. Perhaps we should only fill it to 3000 ml when simmering or even less when steaming but accurate size listing would be very helpful. Also, it comes with a small cookbook but I need google translate to read it. XD I’m happy about the width of the steam plate. I think it’ll be perfect for 4 big baozi or even a whole fish. I did get the basic plates that are recommended for this but I don’t think I needed to. My pasta bowls that are just a bit wider also fit under the lid. Nonethless, I’ll keep the extra plates. Back to the mushi nabe itself, it’s a beautiful piece of cookware I’m excited to have in my kitchen!
