Washed Black Lug-Sole Derby Boot

I wanted a black boot that felt less polished and more practical for everyday wear. These look good with denim and heavier jackets, and the deep tread gives them a stable feel. The sole is pretty substantial, so it took me a day or two to get used to the weight.

The black leather has subtle variations instead of looking flat, which gives the boots some character. I wore them around the city for several hours and found the thick sole supportive. The toe box was slightly snug at first, so wider feet may want to check the sizing carefully.

These have been a solid option for casual Fridays and weekend dinners. The open lacing gives me enough room across the top of my foot, and the worn-in texture hides small scuffs pretty well. I wouldn’t wear them with a very formal suit, but they look good with relaxed tailoring.
