Ordered ten trees this spring (April of 23) and they arrived well packaged. I bought trees that were about one foot tall or so. The trees themselves were shipped in the little pots they'd been started in with potting soil. The little pots were individually wrapped in plastic to keep the roots moist. The trees appeared healthy when they arrived. I dug my holes to the recommended size then filled the hole with potting soil and planted the trees in the potting soil then covered it all over with a thick layer of mulch to help retain moisture. The tree will get it's first year or so in the potting soil then start putting roots into the actual dirt of my yard. Not sure if this method is best but it's been the best for me in the soil at my place. These trees were bought as a replacement for other thuja giants I purchased from another website last year. I followed those instructions and lost about half of the 18 trees I planted in the spring of 22. Wished I would've found this site then and not wasted a year. I've only bought these ten thujas from this site but if this is how they ship trees to people, I'll buy all my trees from these guys from now on. At least the trees arrive healthy and ready to go. If they don't make it after that, it's very likely my fault.
