The normal channel of my ‘75 Fender Twin Reverb started making the infamous “sizzling bacon” variety of white noise. With Mike’s assistance, I was able to eliminate bad preamp tubes or dirty tube sockets, leaving old carbon compj plate resistors as the likely culprit. I ordered this carbon film set of resistors, as well as a set of cathode bypass resistors for good measure, and switched out the plate resistors the day after I received the package. After I did out of the cabinet testing, wonder of wonder, the beast was quieted amd the amp reassembled! I was so pleased with the newly reduced noise floor, I opted to kick the can down the road for the cathode bypass resistors, as I’ve spent a lot more time with my soldering iron than my guitar lately. It is very satisfying to fix something with generous e-mail assistance from the proprietor and his fine component kits! Highly recommended!
