Warm and engaging

An enthralling recording - difficult to believe that it dates from the late 1950s with such excellent resolution, sonority and depth. Now that it has been so clearly and flawlessly transcribed to 128DSD, this closely conducted and warmly performing orchestra with such a lovely soaring soprano and chorus are now revealed at their full mastery. Though the soundstage width is a fraction restricted, it certainly sounds very much like a live performance in a classic concert hall. Yes, the last song from Grieg merges with the Borodin in track 10 3:50, but they do actually complement each other.

This is a superb transfert again. You can't find this album with better sound than here. This is just cool that we can experience historical performance whit this quality. Thumb's up

Beecham's Grieg & Borodin

These are classic performances and have never sounded better than here. The HDTT catalog is a little light on Beecham in comparison with other conductors of the early stereo era. With any luck, this will be rectified!
