Absolute Astonishing!

I absolutely loved calm tides! It was extremely exciting for me to witness Kylo and Cen’s beautiful love story and the inspiring personal growth in their healing journeys as individuals! I was so proud of Kylo for paving the way and showing me as a reader that no matter how long the process of healing takes; there’s always light in the darkness. A true testament of faith being as small as a mustard seed. Trusting that where rain has poured, there’s blossoming flowers on the other side. In J.Cole’s words,“There’s beauty in the struggle.” Cen teaching me as a Black woman that it’s okay to accept nothing less than what you’re deserving of. Both of these characters truly stuck with my heart and they’ll forever be my favorite book lovers by far! ❤️❤️❤️

This was a GREAT follow up! Gave a nice set up for Nova’s story too. It was so good to see a black family as a whole in different forms take on mental health and show different ways to support our family and especially supporting black men. I feel so connected to Kylo’s character, his rawness and realness is refreshing. I know Zee said she was giving him a break but I hope that it won’t be too long!
