This was my first experience with TTRPGs, and while the rules took a little time to learn, they quickly became intuitive after a few scenes. The game includes a helpful example playthrough and offers four genres: noir, fantasy, horror, and sci-fi.
Using only a standard deck of cards and two six-sided dice, players uncover a mystery by interpreting oracle tables, creating scenes, managing threats, and reducing fatigue. The deduction mechanics are loosely reminiscent of Clue/Cluedo, though the gameplay is far more narrative-focused. I especially enjoyed journaling each scene like a story (players can choose to be as barebones or exhaustive as they want), and I appreciate that the game works well both solo and multiplayer.
