Vanguard Chopsticks

Good concept

I purchased these because they were around $20 cheaper than a competitor who also designed their travel chopsticks to split in half and fit one half inside the other. First, I was disappointed to see the Made In China sticker plastered prominently on the packaging. The case for them is nice quality, no complaints there. The wooden material changed recently. They used to be East African Blackwood but they changed it to Rosewood. I don't particularly like the finish on it. Looks like a cheap stain or something. The wooden tips also are not the same. One is darker than the other and about 25% narrower at the tip. Finally, what annoys me with carrying them around is the wooden part inside the steel pieces rattles inside. Competitors addressed this by adding threads to the caps to screw the wooden end in on the inside so it doesn't rattle around but these don't come with that feature. I feel like with improvements these could have been phenomenal but as they are they leave me wishing I had spent the extra $20 for potentially better quality.

These are awesome. Extremely cool and portable. Quite hygienic and a conversation piece.
